Almost every place that could stage some sort of live music did so, from 10 in the morning until late afternoon.

There were even council workers out in the early morning with sprays, wiping out any sign of weeds appearing among the paving stones.
I feel privileged to have been a small part of both festivals.
Cairns needs an Airlie Beach Festival.
It’s made easy for performers and the audience. Airlie also has the backing of the Queensland Government and Whitsundays Marketing and Development, which obviously helps. This isn’t
a detailed plan about how Cairns should stage such an event,
it’s an idea. It’s not a new one, but it’s not been done.
Let’s say we can do this, not that we can’t.
It would be music to many people’s ears.
